Rudi Klein Collection

Post by Aircalled »

This is the man who owns a scrapyard in California that houses loads of old rare stuff as detailed in the book Junkyard, some of which is coming up in auction at RM Sotheby’s. For fans of rust, this is a must

Probably ! I have the book - he actually likes cars rotting apart in front of his very own eyes ! very few people over the years have been allowed in but I guess circumstances have changed

Another 359 lots in an online sale running at the same time. Pallets of clearout stuff like 5 engines at a time. Booked flights last night! No idea if anything will be worth having but its going to be quite an occasion

Makes the stuff Beverley Hills Car Club sell look positively pristine. No doubt there will be some gems in there though.

He should be locked up for letting all that lot rust over the years. Just really unnecessary. Any chance he pulls everything from the auction at the last moment?

Better keep a note of all the chassis numbers as they'll probably all end up as re-bodied speedsters and the like (just the Porsches obvs...)

Hi died in 2001 so that reduces the chances of him pulling the sale. But you never know!

He’s done well to pull the sales if he was dead Image Image
