Spit Nolan wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2024 7:01 pm Hi all, I shall try and do the routes on Waze as been suggested Roads can be a problem. The routes will be PM’d out to those who require them later in the week. As trying not to put hotel info out there just yet.

Less than a week to go until the adventure :)
Having just organised a euro trip myself…. trying to plan a sat nav route for a group using different Sat Nav apps can be difficult.

My two penneth.

Roads is a terrible app and simply not useable in the real world. BUT routes can planned then be shared as a gpx file which can then be used on other more functional apps.

Waze is great for day to day routes but less so for planning custom routes/ waypoints as it tends always route you the quickest but not necessarily the most scenic route.

Everyone tends to have Google maps and a route can be planned (set to avoid M- Ways ) with up to 10 waypoints and shared easily via PM or WhatsApp..

Tom Tom Go is a much better for planning and sharing routes via GPX and works pretty flawlessly.

If you could add me to the list to share the route from the hotel to Boxengasse it would be appreciated:)

Looking to be an ace few days (& weather seems OK too), thanks again to this platform and our intrepid volunteers in putting this together. As having managed/organised a classic trip or two into Europe I know the hard work that goes behind the scenes to make it a success for all particpants

If it works for anybody, and I am on the Wirral (North of Chester) if anybody wanted to hook up enroute early Sat morning do let me know. I am in a fettled 1985 3.2 Carrera and looking to avoid (mostly) motorways.

Cheers, Tom

Some beautiful examples, can't wait to see them all this weekend.

My humble ol' 3.2 Carrera, enroute (Hull) a few years ago my first Euro trip to Circuit des Remparts, Angouleme :)
