2,300 miles. A little too much driving for 9 days. We will not do a holiday that short with that amount of driving again.
Driving is worst in the UK. Makes you wonder what is would be like to not have to travel under the channel before starting an adventure!
We really want to explore from San Sebastian to Portugal around the coast but that will have to be for another time.

This is a plan.
I cycled from Santander over to Santiago DC two summers ago. Through glorious green mountains and hills of Asturias and Picos, along quiet well surfaced roads, lovely empty countryside, nice coastal towns like Gijon. I spent a fair bit of the ride thinking ‘I need to come back in little sportscar’.
We would of loved the soft windowed targa for this trip. Roof on and soft window down would of been perfect.
Yesi would love to bring my bike back here but Mrs B can't do more than an hour even on an eBike.

i'm definitely going to do Spain at some point, but I will do the ferry down, possibly even both legs tbh. I want my driving time to be the fun bit. Unless you have several days in France that then becomes a slog.

That is a lot of miles to pedal.
We did a tour of Austria and a bit more last year in the Boxster, a lot of miles getting to where you really want to be.
The slog to and from the Chunnel is the worst...
We did north Italy this year, but fly/drive.
2 hours to get to Lake Garda, FIAT Panda hybrid and back.
Spent 6 hours getting there and back, that saved 6 days in the Boxster just driving!

The after party started today. There are a few things to fix.
Firstly the green oil pressure warning light stopped coming on at startup. Connecting the wire to earth made the green light come in. Today I fitted a new sender. It was slightly different and unfortunately didn't work. I've ordered one which is exactly the same. If that doesn't work then it's the oil extension that needs changing.
Next I changed all the rubber fuel hoses. I had to drain 15l of petrol. This was not an easy job when I can only jacket up one side of the car. Putting the hoses back on in a restricted place was a pain. I cut open the fuel hose closest to the fuel tank. It didn't look particularly eroded. Lets see if the new fuel filter helps. The car started and there were no leaks.

Next step is carbs off and clean them. I bought an air compressor for the job.

Anti squeal pads installed. Edge put on the pads. Caliper has 12 on them and certainly not the standard size. The front pads are the same as 911

I had both of the carburettors off today and I cleaned them. The air compressor I bought was very useful.

I have fitted 3M anti squeal backings to the front of my 911 and they have made a good difference, have some more now to do the rears on Thursday hoping that is where the remaining noises are coming from.
The pads need a GOOD chamfer. The small one in the pics will soon be worn down and you will have a blunt leading edge again.
My chamfers are a good 6mm at 45 deg. When the chamfer is gone the pads will need replacing.

The carburettors were pretty clean before I started. I'm not sure they are going to be the source of my issue.
Just realised. I haven't oiled the distributor for ages. Maybe it's sticking.

That caliper looks like the ones on a SC or 3.2 Carrera. The Carrera one has a small spacer in the middle to accommodate the wider disk. Can’t quite see in the pic, but I would guess that’s an SC caliper.
