Events slalom/rally Pforzheim Porsche Club

Post by _Baudett »

I am the owner of a '72 S model that was transformed into an S/T in the same year. Starkey references this chassis as an S/T in his book. This transformation took place in Pforzheim for the founder and president of the Porsche Club Pforzheim, Mr. Dieter Fend, who established the club that same year. Mr. Fend was a racer in various sports events, and I have been trying for a long time to find some photos, information, and results from certain events.

I would like to ask if anyone knows about a long-distance rally event that was held between 1968 and 1973, organized by the Intercontinental Hotel chain across Europe. We believe our car competed in this rally, but I haven't been able to find any information about this event online. Given that it was a long-distance event with many competitors, I am wondering if anyone here remembers the name of this event?
Name. Internationale Intercontinental Rallye 1972

I have other events listed where Mr. Fend raced his Porsche around Pforzheim and its surroundings. If anyone has information about events in those areas during those years, I would like to talk to them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

Knut-Holger Lehmann sent us this letter to confirm that Dieter Fend, the owner of our car, is indeed the same Dieter Fend from Pforzheim, a friend of Mr. Lehman. I understand that many of you might know him.
