My first 'Day' was delivered by 2 police motorcycle officers, both called Dave.
It was actually a good day.
Most attending were 33 or less in a 30 offenders, me included.

Second one was via PC and was a bit awkward to follow as the system kept on dropping out.

A driving instructor delivered the day.
It was a good day iomho, and learnt a few tricks to avoid offending.

Best one was to drive a manual car in 3rd in a 30 area, the slightly higher revs tweaks the mind and you calm things down by dropping the noise.

Works a treat in all my cars.
Dealing with tailgaters etc was also good, and a few other things too.

I'm expecting a weekend report from KS at least very soon.

Re: people tailgating you. On the first course I did (for allegedly doing 31mph in a 30mph zone! Portsmouth had a strictly enforced zero tolerance regime at the time...) the guy told people not to get aggravated by someone tailgating you, just let them get past and on their way. After all, he said, that driver might be rushing to get his pregnant wife to hospital – or he could be an armed robber with a gun in his lap. Worse still, he said, he could be an armed robber rushing to get his pregnant wife to hospital. Either way, just let them go... Wise words.

Interested in the tailgating advice, and if it differs from what I was told when I was getting lessons in the late '90s?
Remember of course that this was in rural Scotland, so maybe not the best advice for central Manchester or wherever, but...

'if someone is tailgating you, ease off gently to around ⅔s of the posted limit. Stay there for ten seconds or so, then accelerate back up to the limit as fast as you can. If they haven't stopped tailgating or overtaken by the third time of you doing that, then at the next junction or set of lights, get out of the car, smile, pop the boot, and gesture for them to get in it'

Yes, drop to about 10% under the limit gently and hold that unless you need to go slower.
Do not look at the offender, just be spatially aware where he is. If still keen to get into the boot at the first chance ease to the left of the lane to encourage them by and they will be out of your life, much better as they are adding nothing positive to yours!
If they stick to the boot just carry on, slow down for junctions etc by lifting the accelerator not braking hard, that usually works.

I get lot of 'gaters when out in the Boxster, it is a target for sure.
The 73T is a magnet for Range Rover Sports, they love the arse of the car.

The Skoda Superb is the best one, nobody needs to expand their ego by passing one.

Lots of aggression on the roads nowadays.

I just did an online Motorway speed awareness caught on an empty m23 at 0015, I was doing 62 on a 50 stretch - missed the overhead notification.

Guy running it was good very engaging BUT it was clear the whole intention of the course was to sell to the attendees and beyond by word of mouth, how safe smart motorways are. I disagreed at the start and at the end when he went through the whole speel of 'if everyone follows the rules it shows how safe they are', I pointed out he has 15 people on the call that proved even normal reasonable responsible people dont always follow the rules!

He wasnt happy.

Collected the GT from Jaz this morning.

It was so cosy in the cabin, blatting back to Peckham in the sunshine.

Now the car has been serviced and checked over by Steve Winter, I need to write a For Sale ad

My last course was for doing 65 in the EV Taycan on empty M1 by Sheffield with smart motorway restrictions to 50 for air quality. In my EV!

In fairness they did a decent job of explaining it is not MY emissions but the large reduction in overall start / stop /concertina effect that overall improves when all are pegged to constant speed.

So presumably the wellbeing of the folk living under a motorway and next to the biomass powered Eon power plant is now on the up.

I think the day courses are best taken on the chin.

Try hard and you will take something positive away, but lay down and Think of England.

I know the man who thought this lot up and he races a VERY fast single seater car on the hillclimbs, and has an MBE for it all.

IMHO better than points.
