Trying to find a noise that cut my Euro trip short!
This is happening to my 914 at the moment. It was making some noises. I hoped an easy fix but ...

I moved the engine from the worky garage into the clean car garage. Hopefully I'll have it fitted back up in time for a drive out on monday. Also ordered a new set of ht leads too.

Been busy on the hillclimber's driveway today.

Non Porsche was the ventilation blower motor seizing (nearly) on my leggy Skoda Superb, but got stuck-in and fixed it with some engine oil in the exposed fan shaft bearing. Temporary fix I think, but i need the car!

Secondly, after a nice walk in the woods with The One I Love, got back to the Boxster in the car park.
Car hot so opened the windows...
Passenger door window regulator made all the evil noises of a broken and gnarled drive cable failure and the glass stayed 80% down.

Did the driver's side a few years ago.

Car is also getting leggy at 82K now, so have to expect these things. £115 from Design911 tomorrow and a really fiddly job coming up.
I remember the driver's side all to well.

I continued to bolt parts on. Still at the stage where the list seems endless

Stopped the turn signal hosting moving in my 356. Initially I thought the bolts were too long so I shortened them but no. I cleaned out the inside and regreased then put some tape on the column. Hosting now solid. Just need to get the horn working now but can't get the pusher offImage

Spent nearly 2 hours getting the broken window regulator out of the Boxster this afternoon as it wasn't raining.

Part on it's way from Design911, so clearing the debris out now will make installation easier...

Always reminds me that modern cars are so complicated and detailed, clips and more clips (to be broken) and sharp edges and loom everywhere. Made notes this time where things go, there are 2 hidden clips in there, and door rattles will be there if you miss them.

Cable had rusted through as usual, no grease worth talking about, so once the zinc has worn away the thing just rusts.

Maybe not bad for a 15 year old car with 82K miles and sleeps outside no matter what.
