Insurance - Anyone used Howdens/A plan

Post by Timo »

As per the title, has anyone used Howdens (formally A plan) for their classic?

I’m currently with Hagerty (markel are the underwriters) and have so far been pleased with their customer service but a VW friend mentioned he had received a favourable quote from Howdens so I decided to pop in to my local branch for a quote, they have actually come in a fair bit cheaper and with additional benefits using KGM as the underwriters who I must admit I’ve never heard of.

Just wondering if anyone else has any experience (good or bad) with these guys?

I used A-Plan to insure my Westfield - good price and service but then I never had to make a claim.

In the recent past i insured my race car for basically third party, fire, and theft.
This was through A plan on the suggestion of other competitors. Found out they went through Hagerty so went to Hagerty direct, saves some (not a lot) of money.

Race car and my 73T through Hagerty on the same policy now and for several years.

Hagerty are very good at customer service, additions, changes, renewals I find, so happy, but have never made a claim.
