Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
A win would have been better, but not realistic. The Norma is 40 years younger than the Lola and carries 500 bhp and a NASA bank of computers to sort it, and, of course the driver is younger and far better than I!
It was around 4 seconds faster than the Old School Lola.
However, I am very happy to end up where I am, but, 1 second slower than my pb, bloody irritating.
There is always something not quite right...

I replaced the sidelight bulbs with 20w bulbs. I also cleaned the contract points. I'm going to order some LEDs. I'm like to keep the sidelights on as the 914 sits a bit low and I like to be seen.

Keep an eye on your sidelight lenses - with a 20w bulb on all the time you're driving you might find that the heat produced will soften/melt/distort the plastic ! ...

Spent the weekend using the yellow car for ‘daily duty’s’ , running to the shops, blasting around the lanes etc. Nice to have great weather. On Sunday popped over to Croft with my daughter for the Croft historic meet. Met up with Pete and also Spotted a lovely 914/6 race car that turned out was owned by another ddker ‘swb100’ . Was good to put a face to a name

Took it out a run as I'm supposed to be taking it to Germany tomorrow. Got it home and the starter motor died. Twenty minutes later it started fine. It's done that before but it usually starts after a couple of goes. Not today...

Park on hills. Chances of a no hill / starter motor fail coincidence are much lower than starter motor alone.misteralz wrote:Took it out a run as I'm supposed to be taking it to Germany tomorrow. May not seem much, but went to a local 'noggin n natter this evening at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb. Some nice cars there.
However, came home in the dark.
Months ago i fitted LED headlamps to the 911 and this was the first time I've driven it at night (for years).
Lights are soo sooooo good compared to stock

That works out nicely then because Germany is downhill from there, according to my map.misteralz wrote:I live in the Netherlands.

Hi All
Running a little late with this but MOT'd the Spyder a week ago...
Passed 1st time with no advisories (for the 3rd year in a row).
Happy? You bet I am!
All the best

Found and installed a pretty nice vintage Recaro bucket seat recently. The character of it matches my rat bucket well.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Took a drive down to the local Porsche parts shop. Bought a new ignition switch, reverse light switch, and a DME relay. Hopefully I'll actually get to fit them, along with a new starter motor, later on this week. Would love to get a stress-free drive out before the weather turns...
