I think this car has been converted to G50 transmission.

Tricky bit is finding the centre line of the car as this tube is key to chassis alignment.
When i did my 73T in '89 I used a simple plumb bob (3 in fact) to establish the truth longitudinally down to the garage floor and came off that.
There is a great diagram somewhere giving the dimensions of the early shell and the tolerances used by the factory.

This might help find the centre line of the car, simple triangulation of known datum points.
Obviously a cellette jig is the quickest/accurate way, but v expensive.
