Hi all,
I am putting my 356 engine back together at the moment.
While double checking the orientation of the #2 split main bearing I noticed that in the manual and on many pics online that there is a slot in the LH case half from the bottom of the bearing down to the centre cam bearing, but my case doesn't have this slot.
The case is dated 29/59. Is there an advantage in putting a slot in the case or should I just leave well alone?
Cheers
Paul

Best speak with Mike and Co at PRS, who is also a member on this forum and knows 356’s inside out.
