Best way to seal paint around holes in bodywork

Now with fresh paint, I am planning on putting everything back together, but the OCD in me worries about paint chipping off around the holes after fitting the parts, and moisture creeping under the paint and causing rust over the long term e.g. washer nozzles and wiper mech holes, badge holes, door trim holes, wing mirror holes, and all of the holes that I need to drill for the sill trims etc.

Any tried and tested ideas/products that solve this?

Perhaps one solution for screws (which will tend to remove the paint around the hole edges), and another for push-in parts?

Grease. Lots of it.

Nice pot of Castrol LM to one side and put a blob in all the holes and on the thread of the screws.

Not much else you can do with those awful self tappers into the sill.
