Today I'm questioning the wisdom of letting my daughters livery my track car.
They had lot of fun though, that's what counts.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.
Are you doing the Curborough Championship? One of my old racing mates (Simon Parkin) does it in an MG, says they are the car to have for it (he has Porsches too if you meet him)

I'd like to. There are a number of people in the bog standard 1.4 MG ZR so it's quite competitive without any temptation to spend a lot of money improving your vehicle because they have to be completely stock. As it happens this car is the championship track record holder.
I probably know Simon by face although not by name.
Sadly I'm in the early stages of a dispute with Motorsport UK whose policies exclude me from taking part because I have epilepsy. I claim this is illegal so I'm trying to pave the way for more people with epilepsy to participate in motorsport. I'm confident I will win and they will have to change their policies, but how quickly and willingly they move forwards remains to be seen.
The (relatively short) deadline I gave them to sort it out has effectively passed now, without response from them. I'm trying to be nice and keep it amicable but I'm also reluctant to let them spaff my season away, which I suspect they may do if I don't exert a little pressure.

Thanks. I was there this p.m. where the other ZRs were racing and apparently Simon hasn't been racing for a year or two, so I probably haven't met him.

FF2000 weekend at Cadwell. Was fast in testing. Unfortunately both Jen and I slid on oil towards the end of the second lap in quali with damage to both cars. Got hers fixed for race 1, mine not until race 2. I managed to qualify 8th on my out lap for race 1! Sadly as I missed it, I started at the back (21st) in race 2 and finished 7th in the torrential rain. Jen qualified 18th for race 1, finished 9th, then 8th in race 2. That meant that she and I actually tussled on track. You'll notice my skywards splitter which was because we would normally fettle the front support frame to get it in the right place, but ran out of time. Mind you, car still had a lovely balance in the wet, mild understeer, soft front bar, rear bar disconnected and full rear wing...
There I was, thinking that the whole world was upside down and in turmoil ………
It turns out that everything is OK because Ian is still mad as the proverbial box of frogs!
Brilliant Ian, you’ve just made my night!
