Re: Template for engine lid badges
Hi Lee, I have my original skin I cut off and used as a template for my new lid. I taped it to the new lid and drilled through it.leedurrant73 wrote:Hello.

It’s a bit hard to post, but you are welcome to have it if you can collect? I’m near Crewe.
I’ve marked all the dimensions on it and can take a better picture if that would help, but it’s so much easy to use it as a drill jig.
Re: Template for engine lid badges
If that doesn't work out, I have a spare lid right behind me, with the lower part of the frame removed - I could tape some brown paper to it and make a pretty accurate template of the bottom edge and badge holes ... might take me a few days to get to the post office though.. busy last week at work before Easter hols

Re: Template for engine lid badges
I could translate those centres measurements kindly posted above onto a printed paper sheet the width of the engine lid. You'd then just need to position the paper template and secure with masking tape, then get your drill out.

Not wishing to hijack the thread but could anybody with an early 911 with the two piece script post a similar picture and measurements for both the 'Porsche' and the 911 emblems.
Re: Template for engine lid badges
I'm sending Lee a paper template taken directly from an original, in the post today, ...Nige wrote:I could translate those centres measurements kindly posted above onto a printed paper sheet the width of the engine lid.
