1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Yes - drag racing is the only motorsport in which its use is allowed. Shame, because a shot of nitrous coming out of the hairpin at Wiscombe would be very beneficial!

Didn't want the front end to get jealous, so time for more translucent 'glass and balsa wood...

Now back to the rear and mount the Accusump reservoir. Will do the plumbing once the engine's in place (and yes I will align the clamps properly)...

Looks great Keith! Are you allowed to race with the roof off?

You are, but it’s probably slower in a 914 with the “air brake” exposed………
Also, you have to remember to bring your goggles or helmet visor.

In that case I think the bonnet and boot deserve a matching lightweight targa top!

The roof actually adds significantly to the rigidity of the shell - you can really notice the difference. But the weight saving would also be significant, especially as it's weight located so high above the centre of gravity...

Do those fins in the sump try to stop the oil moving to one side of the engine?

More for cooling than anything else by helping transfer heat out from the oil to the sump.
