New part from Porsche does not fit

Earlier this week I enquired with Porsche for new stop washers for rear shocks. Reply was as follows:

901.333.511.00 - stop washer Boge - NLA
901.333.511.12 - stop washer Koni - NLA
911.333.511.00 - stop washer Boge/Koni/Bilstein - £9.71 each + VAT


So, I ordered 2 of the last one. Here are pictures:











As you can see, the O.D. of the white washer measures 58mm, but the I.D. of the cover shroud of both black Boge and red Koni are 55mm, which means the washer will not fit inside the shroud.

The part number of the washer was listed in the post '74 PET catalogue (not earlier), so does anybody know if the '74> rear shocks are bigger diameter than pre-73?

What do I do with these washers? I think parts from OPC's are not refundable especially if they were ordered from Germany.

Find someone with a lathe and get them machined down to suit the tube ID.
About 30 mins job, so £10 cash.
