Great pic's wouldn't mind getting a template of that engine trim as I want to make one from some leather I can get from India.

The cord yes I have not looked as yet so any leads would be good I work in the fabric trade so I might be able to get better matches with some extra work..

WHat carpet set did you go for the £250 one for the £600 orginal one.

I must admit I saw a domestic carpet in a 356 A in Ca last week and it was ok I must admit. Might go for this my self.

I am going to trim the seats myself

Must dig out the 356 this week end to start some more work..

get ready Mark @ Roger Bray I am going to order that floor now...
Can you take a pic of the colour card you have. PM me the company and tel number..

I have some very good vynal and close match. I think I have now matched the Vynal on my 54 as it was the cream fleck which is a pig to find but I got there..

just called them cheers

I have some samples of the vynal as I have the biggest wholesaler of vynal in the UK if not Europe just at the end of my road.

I have got the vynal for the interior with the fleck as a almost perfect match....BUT mine is oatmeal and the colour funny enough of this vynal is called oatmeal... spooky.. I have looked on my sample card and they only do a solid grey :( when I get 5 i will take a trip down and have a mooch though and see if I can get a grey fleck..

Mark

Oh forgot to mention I picked up in the US this week a pair of Horn Grills ( oh just thought does yours have horn grills..? ) anyway I picked up these repro ones that are NOT plastic like the speedster kit car ones. These are metal and the chrome is very good. I am told they have lasted well and the chrome is better than the orginals ..any way you would think these cost loads....nope $15 buckeroone's EACH!!!!! yep $30 the pair..

I will take a photo of them later..

you seem to dig up some right bargains 8) , the original grey vinyl was very light grey with dark grey flecks, i've had my 2 front seats trimmed already(500 quid) and i'd already paid for the cord. dyou think hes had my pants down!. i do need a good set of hubcaps, i have original but its going to cost to much to rechrome, karmann konnection sell them at £30 each, there stuff is normally top notch, dyou know what there caps are like? what i dont want is a set of caps which peel at the sniff of rain.
i see youve got some 912's, any chance of pics, are they on the road or projects, what sort of money would a good one be.
what colour is the cord in your car, dark or light?

Those grills are Jims normal price at the moment I think I got the tax knocked off but that's it.

The seats for £500 is about right for a good job £250 each. But in the trade I could get a better price but not alot less ( may be £400 or a shade less ) as I would want the quality. It all depends on how much work was needed to be done to the seat before the material could even be cut.

Hub caps well interesting I have just got the VW ones and I have painted the rear of the caps and I was thinking well The car will only be used in good weather and when stored I will just wipe over with a cloth and some VW40 or Pertolum Jelly. and wipe off when taking out and those cost me £20 for the set at last DDK meet at Winter VW meet I forget where but it's next month..

I will ask about the grey when i pop in. as you could use it for the sides. The vynal is cheap I think the most is about £9 a meter + vat sometimes less.

912's hmm one or two over the years.

I am working ha ha well it's just sitting there... a silver 65 must get on with that as I want to sell that car later in the year. And my 69 which is well over due the engine rebuild I prommised her and the polished fucsh wheels that are still under my bed and the new shocks recaro's and other goodies I have still to put on it... no time and not really a good size workshop really..

The cord in my car is light.. very light.

Still working on the history..

but that's funny about your bumper on the roof of your car in the pic as it looks just like the orginal colour of my 54..

no my wiring is good except for the back lights which i will replace, the car wont be concours but it will be a solid correct car. my intentions were to use it as it was, i bought it from pics about 30 of them, maybe should have paid a visit :? but hey its a 1 owner matching number car with all sales papers. i havent stripped it to a complete shell, all the wiring is still in the car, i will repaint the door caps dark blue to match the dash but i'm keeping the dash in original paint, just needs a few touch ups around the steering column.
i'm pleased with it so far.
what size wheels are you putting on yours?
i will see the trimmer next friday and he has a copy of the engine bay kit, i'll get a tracing paper set of him for you.
i'm going to try and get the car finished for summer to get some use out of it then in the winter take it of the road and remove the engine to freshen it up. when you planning on your being finished?
