The other side of window panel looks to be fine thank god… looks good!

That bit should be straight across

Screen panel does look good, top edge of the flange is going though so could do with tidying up. Mine looked similar and when I ground it back properly I found it holed under the old sealant and paint.

I made a small repair for that bit (other side on mine) and a local repair to the original inner flange as that was also rusted down and a bit thin.

You could by cutting and welding, but you get a massively better part so much quicker using a shrinker/stretcher.
That little piece took about an hour from cardboard to metal. Maybe if I’d have taken a bit longer I’d have got better gaps for welding, but it did the job

Yes Gary you may be right?
I have poked around with a screwdriver and seems very solid.

Going to leave it for now and concentrate on removing the remaining paint a surface rust.
I’m quietly confident with the body and know it will need work, just ordered some more parts.

Hello Ian,

Unfortunately had covid over Christmas, then back to Brazil. Been home a few days and plan to push it out on good days and do some more stripping. Still aiming for summer time resto.
Oh, forgot to mention I got all the windows out in one piece. Windows area look good….

Just an aside...
I re did my 911 3 years ago, glasses out for a repainted etc.
3 lower corners were holed and tedious repairs to say the least.
I installed 4 water drain tubes while I was in there with washer bottle tubes taking the water away to the outside front and rear.
Bet no water gets in there now!

Hello,

For the past three years I’ve spent 7 months of the year working in Brazil.
Drilling with Exxonmobil. Living in Rio, Niterói and Maceio. Coming to an end now and hope I get a nice new place in the world. Brazil has been a fantastic place to work. Covid has been a real pain. I’ve had to quarantine 14 days each time I arrive and 10 days in London on my return. Almost broke me at one point. Struggled to get through my shift.

Now isolation has been closed down I’m back to 35/35 rotation.

Hopefully get some time now to work on the car….. I’ve really enjoyed stripping the car..

Just preparing the old Lambrettas for the season at the moment with a few modifications.

Well it can be.If you can find a "buck" of similar proportions, or dolly.If you hit the metal, it has to stretch.Its predicting where its going to go, is the tough bit.Last time I made that flasnge, I had no shrinker.I ended up used the aluminium wheel thingy of a plumbers pipe bender.
I have a workshop full, of apparent scrap metal.At some time, it becomes useful for fabrication.

Started to clean around the edges of the engine compartment. No surprise so far. Also trying to finish passenger outer sill area. Hopefully do some more this week!
