Looks better each rime I visit this thread. What are you using there for panel damping?

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Also, have you though about putting a cup holder in at all? Not original equipment, I know - but probably the single improvement I yearn for the most when driving mine. I contemplated tacking a cylinder on the the centre tunnel while all the trim's out.

One of those (IMO 'superfluous') features that I've never understood ...

The shiny stuff is Silent Coat panel damping. Not sound deadening as such, just to stop the panels ringing. There will be a standard engine bay pad and an extra one under the parcel shelf.

It’s a noisy car, so I’m just aiming to take off the sharp edges rather than try and make it something it’s not.

Wiring harness is going in today.

Done the easy bit with the front harness first. Just loosely fitted for now until I’ve done the fun job of getting the starter cable and the rear harness through the tunnel to mate up to it.

I know it all comes down to taste, but is it not worth fitting something similar to the ones on this black car that was subject of another thread? It would save drilling the doors again, and probably not as prominent to get knocked off.

It does come down to taste… and I think I’d rather drill holes in fresh paint than fit those :) :)

I see you didn’t go for black behind the scuttle vent. I debated this for ages…..

I’m not sure, the original paint was long gone so I went with green. Much easier to make it black later if it shows through too much

Surely the stamped-out holes on the inside of the door for access to the mirror mounting screws are still there ?

Spot on suggestion Andy!

Yes, and I can see the back of the holes. I’m going to put a little pilot hole through from the inside then drill it properly from the outside.

Main harness and starter cables finally in place. Slight OCD kicking in trying to tidy the loom, but this is as good as I can get! Think the before and after tells a story…

Heated screen and amp wiring is now integrated using spare fuse circuits.

The bits of green tape are the labels for each wire, so they are staying in till I’ve proven everything works :)

I need to find the charcoal can vent hose then I can close the tabs on the inner wing.

What of the factory over-centre battery clamp?
Much neater Gary, well worth doing.

Guess you are going to sit down now and watch the GP!

That clamp is in the spares bin! It never really clamped the battery properly anyway, hence the random bit of wood.

I’ve welded a lip inside the battery boxes and made new clamps for the front to grab the standard lip around the bottom. Not fitted in this pic as it’s in a box. Somewhere…
