912 Fan Pulley

Post by adrianscott »

Hello
Cannot get back pulley which goes onto the dynamo spindle square on. Wobbles about with shims needed to bring pulley back away from dynamo case. Am I missing something?
Thank you

Adrian, in your second pic it looks close at the top and gappy at the bottom, is it just a case of it not tightening up squarely? I tend to tighten mine without the pulley locked initially which allows the pulley wheel to rotate a little as you go which allows it to go on squarely, I then lock the pulley and torque up the last bit.

Also your belt is riding low. How many shims do you have and where are they?

Can you tell.us the dimensions of the belt?

I think I might have 1 shim between the half and generator
