01 vs 0R gearboxes - are side covers compatible?
Not totally sure of the significance of 901 gearboxes having a part number ending in 01 vs 0R, but having cleaned some of the underseal off mine I see the side cover is number: 9013013110R. That's all well and good, except it's broken and I've bought from USA a replacement having number 90130131101. I assume the final digit mimics the final digit on the main casting. They don't actually look the same insofar as the 0R on the car has more reinforcing ribs. Does anyone know whether the one I've bought is compatible with my gearbox?
1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.
