There's nothing 'special' about these - in the past I've just cut/used a suitable length of clear perspex rod (4mm diameter from memory) - something like this:

Are H1 rings different to H4? I have two H4 rings available.

Yes H1s have 5 screw holes in them vs 3 for H4s
