914 screen trims

Post by swb100 »

I managed to lose both left and right alloy upper screen trims in the wind and rain this weekend . Has any body got any ? Thanks, Glynn.

Been there in the distant past on a few occasions.

Trim is still available new from Porsche and the only way to stop it happening again is to replace the one use black plastic clips that hold them in place, which often do not get replaced as they can only be fitted when the windscreen is removed.

Ever since I fitted the new black plasic clips I have not lost any.

Yes I noticed that some of my plastic clips where broken. I've order some more.

A windscreen out does sound like fun!!

I was at an Air Cooled event last night. Angus from Greatworth was there and mentioned that they have new and old trim in stock

How do you think it is held in?

What you can see is the Bytyl Sealant which is off a roll that is place round the windscreen surround to hold it in place.
