1969 T front bumper fitment

Post by 82targa »

Hi everyone,
Does anybody know if a 1964 swb front bumper is the same as the one my car needs ????
Which is a 69T lwb .targa
I thought that the only difference was in the rear off the car , being the length. And the total front including the wings are the same
I am trying to find a front bumper and can only find a swb one
Cheers graham

Very widely available part. From Porsche, plus Dansk and Restoration Design at lower cost.

Thanks for the link , inaglass .
I was thinking to get an original part but I suppose when you mess about with the repairs and rust and other things it’s easier to get a new one at these
Thanks again

Well, depends...
Conventional wisdom (from a man who has seen them all multiple times, but not me - my direct experience is with official Porsche panels):
Porsche part is ££££ (over £1500 in this case, I think), but quality will likely be good and it will fit
Dansk part a lot cheaper, but you might spend a fair amount of time and effort getting it to fit...
Available here for example:
https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod2126 ... 1-1969-73/
Restoration Design somewhere in between.
Quality comparison varies by specific part...

A used part can be really good, but as you say need to be careful of corrective labour costs.
