Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
They’re wonderful cars and we’re incredible back in the fifties and sixties because we were used to cars that rolled and over steered rather too easily. In a light 15 it seemed that you could corner as quickly as you were travelling with no roll at all and incredible grip thanks to Michelin X. Everything else had dreadful cross plies. Not fast and only three speed, but they lasted indefinitely however you drove them. I love them amd they’re cheaper in France if you want one.

Survived Curb, quite well actually, so we have every intention of being there. Come and say hi! Wjwhillracer wrote:I should be at Wiscombe on Sunday on duty with the WIMPS team. Hope you can make it!Winston Teague wrote:Yes, assuming we survive Curborough next weekend!![]()

Just looked up Resultsman, you are being too modest! Was that BTD?Winston Teague wrote:Survived Curb, quite well actually, so we have every intention of being there. Come and say hi! W

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
The 1965 Sebring 12 hrs was hit by a tropical deluge so heavy the narrow wheeled Sebring Sprites started unlapping themselves from the fat tyred frontrunners and Giotto Bizzarrini removed his fine Italian shoes and socks, rolled up his trousers and conducted barefoot from the pits. The shoes were washed away never to be seen again, Bizzarrini catching the plane back to Italy shoeless.
Worse, Iso Grifo A3/C number 8 had hit a spectator's VW Bus after Bizzarrini declined local advice to run Castrol high temp brake fluid and the number 9 A3/C of Mike Gammino was cleaved in two after aquaplaning into a bridge support. Gammino fainted when he saw how close he came to being bisected

Footage makes you wonder if the race officials would start ark building before they stopped the race...
