Help Needed Fitting Recaro Seats

Post by DarthMJH »

Hi,

Today I was fitting my lightweight RS seat mounts with my Recaro Ideal S seats.

The issue is, the seats are quite high as the runners that bolt to the mounts foul on the seat rail supports either side. Should I cut the runners that have 4 holes down to size so they fit lower?

If others have fitted these, what's the general consensus of height. 1 or 2 holes down? As you can see I am on the 3rd hole.

Sorry, not a great picture.

Thanks for looking.

Help Needed Fitting Recaro Seats

Post by hot66 »

Standard recaro sports seats ? My 73 ones only have 3 mounting holes ( I have lowest at back and middle at the front) ... mounted to tipping double locker bases. No interference with anything

Hi James,

They are not standard sportsitz but ideal S sportsitz. I believe the bases are the same as regular recaro's only the back is different.

The runners I bought seperatly, and they came with 4 holes.

Probably the same as your 73 the seat rail supports are for double lockers, so both sides of the metal goes diagonally inwards which is causing them to foul.

I have been looking into this last night. I have these fitted

And I believe I need to get these:

The runners will then not foul on the metal.

I will put a wanted advert.
