The beautiful 212 Inter, which was in Brisbane for many years in the 60's and 70's, and sadly deteriorated, before being sold back to a Sydney collector and restored. Not sure if it's still there.
That magazine looks as well used as my own copy and brought back many memories.

As well as a 914 in SCCA, Virginia VW-Porsche dealer Hugh Heishman ran a 911R from '68 - '70 here at Sebring '68

Heishman's modified VW type 3 powered Zink Z-8 completed the '69 Daytona 24 in 18th overall, 3rd in class

Returning to Daytona in '70 Heishman entered a Deserter GS dune buggy in the 24. After a collision in practice with Siffert's 917, the spoilsports from Stuttgart lodged a complaint against the buggy on grounds of safety. Race stewards allowed the Deserter to race, but seeing the bigger picture Heishman voluntarily withdrew his entry

Hi Greg
It was good that you know of the cars history, and even better that you have the same issue.
I have recently found quite a few of those magazines that I had bought in that period.

Mrs Hillclimber was being 'persuaded' to go to Sept SPA this year.
Still work in progress...

Lovely picture and just the cars I used to draw at school. :)

I was vaguely hoping to go and compete in Sept this year with my Elan - in the HSCC races, not the actual 6 hour. But I suspect it's not going to happen with all the carnet stuff (not to mention that virus nonsense).

The carnet thing is stupid.
I hope the EU will have forgiven the UK for designing a CV19 jab for the world 1st, ordering the bottles to be 1st, jabbing 21 million 1st and proving the Oxford potion is good for over 65's 1st!

Since I started aeromodelling, I've loved these light aircraft, the Cessna 172.
For me, the best looking light aircraft ever.

anyone actually been up or flown in one?

Lovely workhorse. I've been up many times in its two-seat sibling, the 152 and taken the controls on several occasions. If I can fly it, then I'm sure anyone can. The Three Counties flying club at Blackbushe used the Aerobat version as its rental, as it was virtually indestructible having been strengthened for aerobatic use...

Calling Jamie – I'm sure he has experience of these!

I have a provincial airport next to me, and they have a 152, £90 for 1/2 taster.
My oldest friend built his own plane years ago and it is superb.
Can't do the leaning to fly thing, but it's on the bucket list....
