That's still a fabulous machine even after all this time. I remember following the build in Volksworld, and saw it at Santa Pod (A very cold Bug Freeze in 1991 ish) After that I found myself a penniless student and sold my Beetle and dropped out of the scene. I always wondered what became of it? Did it ever fulfill its potential?KS wrote:

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
First UK VW sedan to run back-to-back nine second quarter mile. Runner-up in VWDRC championship 1991, record holder 1991, winner VWDRC championship 1992, equal first VWDRC championship 1993, runner-up VWDRC championship 1994. First four-cylinder car to qualify for a round of the Super Gas class. So I guess it fulfilled its potential.Kneeslider wrote:That's still a fabulous machine even after all this time. Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Those were the glory days of VW drag racing and imho of the VW scene . ..or maybe it was just because I was young and everything was exciting and anything possible

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

I love these old Ferraris although I know Mike our resident expert is not so keen.
Anyway this guy seemed mighty happy but maybe that was because he had just picked up his friend and her little dog.
