I agree Ian and will be retaining the double lockers, just moving the bar back so you can't see it. I'll then use a proper Recaro knob on a handle a the front so it will look period and correct......the modern handle in my orange car has always bugged me

Sorry, can I slightly hijack your thread to ask the part number of the modern sliders you bought, and where you got them?
Like you, I have bought the repro lightweight cross bars from Karmann Konnection, am now aiming to do the same thing as you in my orange car....

on that note .. modern is deemed 1973 as the '1973 only' recaro sport seats fitted to the 911's were double lockers
Yes, you're right but I was referring to the bucket seat type like the picture Darren posted at the beginning of this thread and the lightweight seat mounts (cross bars), not the standard tilting bracket.

....here you go Richard, Google the part number and you'll find lots of sources......someone you may know is currently modding a couple of sets for me, just don't tell him I sent you!
