Top of door lock button replacement
Hi. The lock push / unlock pull button on top of my driver door has just snapped.
Would welcome advice if an easy home fix. Ie no need to remove internal door cover panel?
Whether home or mechanic fix, is the replacement ‘pull/push button’ easy to source? Would people advise a second hand part to match my scruffy interior or will new patinate quickly?
All advice appreciated!
Thanks. Anthony

They screw on, so if you can get a grip on the broken bit, then no tools needed. If not, screw driver will be required to remove the trim from the above the top of the doorcard
Available from Porsche and the usual suppliers. Maybe a little harder to follow and a secondhand one though.

Easy fix as Peter says, do the job with the lock unlocked so the threaded vertical rod is protruding the most it can. Sorry if that is obvious!

Re: Top of door lock button replacement
Are there different types, I'm sure on my 65 car the buttons have a concave rather than a convex top.
Re: Top of door lock button replacement
Interesting question. I have heard that original ones had narrow stems. Which years had the narrow stem please?

Brilliant. I’ll give it a go diy style. Not quite worthy of a restoration thread! Thank you all.
