Wondered if anyone has good experience of the best way to remove powdercoat from a tubular chassis.
The chassis has had some corrective brazing work done, hence the existing powder coat has burnt off in places. I want to get the whole thing stripped now for either painting or re-coating.
Seems like the options are;
Blast - needs aggressive media and I'm worried about pitting the frame
Heat - burn it off followed by gentle media blast, seems expensive and will take weeks
Acid - dip company prefers drain holes in the tubes to ensure acid isn't trapped
Not really keen on any of the options
Thanks
