Gearbox support/mount
Just putting the engine back in my 72 targa. The car is a bitsa. 70 motor and dogleg gearbox. The gearbox has been changed for another rebuilt dogleg. Now the g/b mount doesn’t fit. The mount has been cut and rewelded to fit the previous box. Suspect it was the original mount for the 915 box and has been modified for the earlier box. So I need to know whether the earlier mounts for the dogleg box was different from the 915 mount? Will an earlier mount fit? Were the earlier dogleg mounts all the same? Help.

Re: Gearbox support/mount
901 mounts are different to 915 mounts.
The bushes are pressed into the mount and not bolted in as per a 915 mount
The mount itself is more banana shaped and not straight as per a 915 mount.
Looking for a 901 gearbox mount myself. They are available from Porsche new, but be sitting down when they tell you the price.
Regards
Sean

Thanks Sean. It’s definately the 915 carrier as the rubbers are bolt in.

Re: Gearbox support/mount
I'm fairly sure I saw new ones on the Rose Passion website a while ago. Their updated website is a pain in the arse to search though so no link I'm afraid!
