912/ 911 Questions

I have my 68 912/6 arriving in a couple of week and have a few daft questions !!

Not sure if this should be in the 912 or 911 section !!

Under the front bonnet what colour should it be, I am thnking it was black on 1968's and body coloured on later ones ? and was this the same in the engine compartment.

I a looking for some bucket seats to go in it (it has non originals in now anyway) are the Rennsport ones generally well thought of ?

And lastly I need to probably buy a new set of carpets, looking for lightweight ones (salt and pepper) but are going to have them altered to fit as it has a rear roll bar. Can anyone reccomend a good source for these ?
Aware of the design 911 ones but ideally would like a recomendation.

It has loads of other things that will need doing, wheels and tyres (has 16 inch Fuchs on at the moment which I am not sure suit) and needs new inserts for the front suspension so I wil probably have loads more daft questions in due course !!

congrats on the purchase!

My 73 has bonnet coloured underneath, but can't say for sure when that changed. B.Johnsons book doesn't mention this either unfortunately, so have to pass

Have yet to buy new carpet set for mine, but I have heard good things from carpets from Lakewell.

A 68MY has a black engine compartment and under bonnet areas (unless you meant the actual underside of the bonnet itself which is body colour).

I have a virtually complete beautiful 68MY interior available but I can’t sell the seats separately as it all came from the same car and would be best kept together as it’s red.

A 68MY 912 would have not have had Fuchs wheels when new but steel wheels.

Well it finally got here !! and I am very pleased !

Needs new tyres (205 60 15's I think) on the Fuchs I have for it an will be taking off the later 911 wheels with which will be genuine with a bit of luck .. for selling purposes !!
