Restoring rear light lenses

Got a good set of original Bosch light lenses (rear set)
No cracks and want to keep them but the chrome edge has peeled off.

Purchased some chrome spray paint but seems to show up grey while
Looking from the front?

Anyone used anything in particular for restoring the edge ?

Take a look at the recent restoration threads, several Targa boys have done some I think.

I had look but couldn’t find anything. The a seems the right shade when I look from the back but from the front it’s to dark. I’m thinking I will need to polish the surface with something like brasso

Then test it.

I have never tried it for this application, but I imagine that aluminium foil tape should work quite well?

I've been using it for donkey's years for EMC shielding and antenna work....

If you're not familiar with it, its like kitchen foil but much thicker and sticky on one side. The sticky side just as shiny in my experience. I just checked the RS Components catalogue and the good stuff is around 0.07 mm thick. Looks like 3M version is less than a tenner elsewhere, so will be a safe choice.... cut with a scalpel, craft knife or scissors.

I think the problem I have is applying too fast and in a cold garage.
Need a better temperature room and apply lightly.

That’s will help I think as it’s a good match fora chrome paint.
