blower motor

Post by rft218 »

Hi All,

My blower motor in the front doesn't appear to be working. I seem to have the correct voltage to the plug and then the resistors seem to be working but no spinning fan.

I have taken it apart and it seems that type911 sell the motor, but it is not clear how you get it out of the housing. I cant find any online assistance. Is it just a case of gently prising off the fan?

Cheers

The fan housing is in two halves held together with hog rings, Unclip them, split the two case and remove the motor and fan.

Thanks Jonny,

I have got that far, so I have the motor and the fan on their own but the motors that are for sale are just bare motors so I guess I have to separate the motor from the metal frame but I cant really see where to start!. It looks a bit like how the alternator is fixed in the fan housing, but a bit more difficult to get to!

Cheers

The fan is just a really really tight fit onto the motor shaft.

It will come off but you'll probably have to make up some sort of contraption to minimize damage to the fan. Long time since I last did this but I think I ended up buying new fan blades.

I couldnt see a way to get it apart but in tapping a bit and gently manipulating it to try to get it apart I seem to have started it working so happy days!!!
