This kit is for self assembly, so instead of having to cut the braid back, insert and clamp the line, then neatly finish the overbraid (which will cost you skin or splinters, or both!), Pirtek or similar will put these red ends into a press and finish for you. You then have say a couple of 3m fuel lines with a -4 or similar thread on the end. I am just suggesting that anywhere you have a threaded end, get a plug for it because you can easily then close the circuit.

I am not so familiar with the earlier cars in original form, but it seems that even with MFI they use some standard rubber fuel hose, connectors, so you may need to use both of those links to do different things on the system. Either to connect from low to high pressure and then to plug. That blue one is beat, I have always used a Philips screwdriver and hose clamp!!
I was assuming that FI was all high pressure like it is on the later cars in my suggestion, but I think you can probably achieve a long life fuel line that adapts to either traditional flexi or hydraulic style connectors easily and cheaply. It just doesn’t look OE, but then it is safe on all fuels etc and won’t deteriorate.
Hope that all makes sense
