As I am getting ready to embark on my MFI motor transplant into my carb'd car, I'm trying to work out the electrics. A key missing component is the RPM transducer. Does anyone have one I can have (buy obvs)? Also are used ones reliable, or like the fuel pump, too much trouble?
Cheers
Graham

Re: MFI RPM transducer
If you can’t find one, the functionality is available through the CDI+ . Talk to Jonny.

Yes, I'm familiar with it; thanks, just weighing up the cost of the original electronics with the CDI+ which I think is around £1000.

Re: MFI RPM transducer
That’s ok then
Typically the legs on the transistors used rust off and the devices are left rattling around the case. Easy to fix with replacement transistors. Also the relay joints fracture and can be easily resoldered.. I can’t imagine are unreliable once fixed.

Re: MFI RPM transducer
Thanks Tim. We'll just see if anything is available. New they are quite pricey and it would probably make sense to go with the CDI+ instead in that case.
