Dash lights on without key !!

Post by murray »

At the stage where I am adding a battery etc to the rebuild and when the pos and neg terminals are connected to the battery I am getting the odd dash light coming on without the ignition key being turned to aux...take the key out and the green light stays on ??? All ideas appreciated .!

.

Do you mean the oil pressure warning light ?

If so, where is it getting its 12v supply from (it should be live only when the ignition is on) ?

Thanks for the prompt response...I looked on the forum and it seems that most entries say there is no oil light fitted , only the oil pressure gauge. On the same page it says the green light ( bottom of speedo ) is for the parking lights on a 69 ?

My next step is to trace the source as this was the first time of looking at the electrics .
