Bonnet hinge pins

Does anyone know whether you can buy replacement bonnet hinge pins and if so are they an easy change?

I ask as when the gas struts are fitted to mine, they push the bonnet ever so slightly up sitting fractionally proud of the cowling.
I bought a new set of standard strength struts to replace the heavy duty ones but the result is the same.

I am assuming the hinge has some play in it, and that the play is in the pin.

Would rather reuse my painted hinges if possible, any thoughts?
