I've got one. Haven't tested its usefulness in a fire though, thankfully.

I saw Harry Metcalfe endorsing one of these recently in a Harry's Garage video and was going to look this up. If it works as suggested, it's a good idea to have these at home as well as in the car.

Funny, this type of device popped up on the Pagoda boards a month or two back - https://elementfire.com/ (also mentions Mr Leno!)
But the company owner signed up and seems willing to answer questions

Re: Not seen this type of fire extinguisher before ...
I'll have some more free time starting in a couple of weeks time. So I'd be happy to organise a group buy.

Nobody bothered by this then??? Anyone selling a CE marked product must be able to provide the test schedule when asked. Sorry, I call BS on these things.Jonny Hart wrote:The ‘Element’ product (which is the same) claims CE certification which implies that it has been through testing for this type of product. In which case you should be able to request a copy of the test schedule and test report. I did just that months ago and got the following reply:
Johnny,
The CE certification back up documents are in the possession of the Italian based manufacturer. Is there a specific question or concern you have? If so, I would be happy to address it.

....BS in that they don't work or BS that they're not really rubber stamped?Jonny Hart wrote:Nobody bothered by this then??? Anyone selling a CE marked product must be able to provide the test schedule when asked. Sorry, I call BS on these things.
Could it be that 'Fire Safety Stick' are just reluctant to disclose the manufacturer of a product which looks like they've rebranded for themselves?.......would anyone really falsely claim 'CE Certification' on a high risk safety product and risk almost certain manslaughter and prison time if something went horribly wrong?
Surely no one in their right mind would?

Re: Not seen this type of fire extinguisher before ...
I have also thought about getting these however although they seem to provide a better solution that my existing fire extinguishers which are now quite old I am not really sure what would happen if a fuel line goes whilst you are driving and the engine bay catches fire.
By the time you realise that you have a problem the fire may be quite well established and hot so are you going to be able to open the engine lid in order to point the extinguisher at the fire?
I can't see you getting much joy pointing it through the air intakes. Perhaps pointing from underneath may work but that may be a bit difficult.
So I have been thinking that maybe the already installed loop that Heritage Parts was advertising might be a better solution?

Hmmm.
They have CE certification and Test Reports shown on their website. Is this what you mean?

I'd be happy to buy one too if there is a group buy please. Not sure which one, 25s or 50s. They say 25s is enough for small cars but maybe 50s may be better?
Thanks
