Touching in interior black metalwork

Post by Silver911SC »

Hi all

I have a few small chips to various bits of metalwork in the car (eg seat runners and seat hinges). I’m not looking to do a full restoration at this point in time, so I don’t want to either replace or take out and respray the entire parts. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good touch up paint/pen that would work well for touching in the chips?

I’ve attached a photo of one of the pieces I want to tidy up. I assume it would be a satin type rathe than fully Matt or gloss. Do you think something like this would be right, or any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Get a tin of satin black spray paint, spray some into the lid, touch up with paint brush.

I use Hammerite SMOOTH satin black.

It has a lot of solids in it and has some 'body' to level to the chipped satin original. Dries quite quickly but slower than most.

That's patina. Leave it.
