Bit late to this, but pretty all the systems are 12v apart from the motor. Lights, windows, doors, audio, washers, power steering, abs etc

I haven’t spent much time poking around the wife’s e-Golf, but when doing the washer fluid this morning I was a tad surprised to find a 12v battery in the engine bay...I am guessing it is used to maintain the memory of functions and settings etc

And the water header tank is for the battery cooling but it does have to have a special anti-freeze

And not to turn the thread into an EV thread. I was surprised when Renault told me they had to change the battery to fix a fault the car had which stopped it. I thought they meant the big battery. No silly, they said, the 12v one! Apparently it's the main service item at the 5 year service - replace the 12v battery. I'll stop now.
