London insurance if stored in public garage

Post by Ant22 »

Hi.
Sorry for ANOTHER insurance question.
I’ve just moved my car to London after keeping it in Suffolk fir many years.
It is stored in a secure garage under a block of private flats 2 streets away from my house.
I informed my insurance provider & they have declined to renew!
I’m now getting quotes between £2k & £3k against value of £150k.
Does anyone have a suggested provider I should try.
Thanks. Anthony

Try Classic Line - I have cars insured that I keep away from home in an underground car park with no issues and sensible premiums.
The force is strong in this one ......

Update in case helpful to others.
Classicline said has to be a single unit garage at value of £150k. Would not even quote given stored in parking space, albeit in secure underground garage.
Hegarty was suggested. Came in at 660£. More than 2k£ below best alternative specialist (Adrian Flux).
Booked.

I am in the same situation
Lockton insure my cars whilst in secure underground garage
They are under a block of flats with electric key entry in central London
There is cctv too
Other classic owners have their cars there too so must be other insurers who will cover
I guess the secret is to have a good relationship with your broker/insurers
They also cover my young daughter aged 22 to drive the cars when no one else would

I’ll put Lockton on the list if I run into trouble next year! If your 356 is the rat look one I saw at Classics At The Castle 4 years ago I’m a total fan! Also love a Pagoda!

Hi.
I'm surprised we could't offer a more competitive premium considering we also deal with Hagerty. I'd appreciate it if you could PM me your details so I can take a look at our quote to see what we have in for garaging etc.
Regards,
Dan.
