Someone, somewhere is going to be upset.

He says that it was sourced in a very sorry state in America but a 68S was never imported (officially) there so it could actually be a 67S (with some incorrect/missing parts) and the production date stated incorrectly or it was a grey market 68S import to the USA and it has the correct build date stated but restored as a 67S incorrectly. Either way it’s a mix up.

Only the chassis number will tell the truth.

Regards
Mike

Ok, problem solved. I’ve just phoned the guy.

It is a 67S with,

The production/build date incorrectly supplied by Porsche on the COA (but he didn’t know this would have made it a 68, and simply thought it confirmed it was a 67S). They have obviously obtained a dvla period ‘F’ registration based on this misconception which is outside 67S production dates.
I suggested he might look at one or two things from the resto,

Wheels
Lower dash (as pointed out by Garry)
Missing side trim
Headlights
Rear view mirror
Wiper arms
Wheel nuts
Front bumper trim

Regards
Mike

Indeed Gary and one too many foil stickers on there as well if we are getting down to the very small details.
