Wish him all the best, never know, if you don’t ask you don’t get.

Talking to a guy today imported an American Lhd 230 sl. Paid 45K spent 105K on it and I believe based on that he thinks it worth 150K, LHD no history and a manual. Wondered but didn’t like to ask if he had agreed value insurance.

Another totally misleading ad. leading to the misleading heading on this thread.

Is that a genuine mistake, a deliberate attempt to mislead, by Tuthills or the seller or his agents, or is it that they just don’t know?

Mike

1/4 million and a Halfords fuel filter floating in the engine bay....
Are there people who have that money just wandering around?

Or you could have an ace E Type and my 911 and spend the rest touring Europe for years.

On his little piece about the romance and freedom of expression of Alfa Romeo designers who therefore delivered ‘automotive works of art’ he says something like,

‘At the junction of the electronic car world it is important to preserve the mechanical car world for future generations to enjoy and admire’

which is all very well if what future generations are looking at is a true representation of the past.

You get the impression the restorers took his money concentrated on a glossy finish and ran.
Door handles, registration number, side trim, wheels, 67S description and more just don’t add up.

But then again I know damn all about base guitars.

I wonder if this anything more than the usual calendar/model year mix-up? I think Porsche people sometimes forget that the rest of the world works on calendar years

I don’t think so Robert.

Look at the wheels, door handles, seats/headrests and gauges.

It’s a 68 by production date but clearly, by accident ( ) or design, refinished to resemble a 67S and is clearly advertised as such.
