Bilstein rol pin - source?

I'm sure this must have come up before, but my search didn't reveal it. I am trying to source the 7mm x 45mm slotted roll pin that holds the insert in place on my 72 911 Bilsteins. Can't find a supplier anywhere.

One pin has the slot at the '12 O'clock' position, which I am sure is incorrect. The other is a '3 O'clock' - correct orientation I believe - but I think I have a very slight knocking on that side. I've checked everything else, and I suspect the pin is slightly worn.

I'd like to replace both pins, but just can't locate the parts. Any help much appreciated.

Looks like Rennline stocks them. I'll order from them unless someone has a better plan

Try your friendly local agricultural machinery dealer. They usually have boxes full of assorted sizes of roll pins.
The pin should have its curved section in the piston rod cut-out, with the gap facing away.

These pins don't tend to wear. Knocking can be associated with wear in the DU Bush that locates the insert in the strut tube.

When these bushes wear that allow radial movement and some knocking can result.

3 o'clock is indeed correct
One of mine snapped (which I believe is the usual failure mode, not wear). I bought replacements from Fenn Lane Chris (fetuhoe above) and all is good. 15 minute job to replace.

When I did mine I just phoned Bilstein UK. They had all the seals and pins in stock. Wasn’t expensive either.

I managed to get out the two rolls pins. Both were too small. Guessing 6mm and not 7mm. Used the correct punch.

Replaced with the 7mm parts and bingo. No clunking at all. Problem solved.
