Took the Targa to the Weston-super-Mare beach lawns car show. Few people there:

The 356 is owned by a guy who lives near me. But I hadn’t realised his wife owned something cute too:

He squeezed the Citroen lump into her Berkeley some years ago (ooh vicar!), and with a few mods and bodywork expansions it works perfectly. They also own a mint Karmann Ghia. If you met them in the street you wouldn’t perhaps have them down as a such a staunch motoring couple. That’s why I love these events.

I tried to go to Nailsworth Garden Centre today and failed completely. The car park was jammed solid and the queue to get in was as one might expect if you wanted bread in Venezuela.
Still I had a chance enjoined the utter docility and excellent traffic manners of the 718 as I sweat and fume while Autoshop Stroud respray my 356C intermittently and at a relaxed pace. They do an incredible job, but I’m not detecting a sense of urgency.

Went for a blast today for a couple of hours, enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty of flies on the screen so went to wash it with window washers, but no water. Got a home and took the spare wheel out and the trunk had water in it. The water pump tube had hardened and came off. Bought some new tubing and fitted. Had to use a hairdryer to get the tubing on.

Did some more fettling on the throttle linkage of the 914, then celebrated with a drive in the Westy.

With all this fettling of the 914 your usual fettling partner Bootsy will be getting quite jealous.KS wrote:Did some more fettling on the throttle linkage of the 914, then celebrated with a drive in the Westy.

/\ /\ I'm hoping he's got past the jealousy stage by now, but you never know with the Brylcream Kid.

I don't use Brylcream (apart from as an emergency lubricant) - I'm a wax man

Had the car inspected by SGS today at request of DVLA. Jobsworth procedure that has wasted over two weeks so far...

He did indeed. I nutted him, after complimenting him on wearing a matching jacket.
