Looking good, and those detail rear and pictures have helped me out no end. Since I got a bit gung-ho with my gearbox bellcrank after mistaking it for something I could live without I’m happy to see your solution with that cable. I’ll be copying it.

Agreed, there’s a market for that cable!
Now you’ve done the hard work in measuring and specifying it can you share exactly what you bought?

Hi Gary
I will be happy to, but only after I've checked that it actually works...
Machining is all done on my engine, and all the required parts are bought. MFI pump and throttle body rebuilds are also done.
So hopefully not too long until it's back together.
Cheers, Richard.

Fair point, I’m a little off needing one anyway

Your MFI comment just reminded me that the engine end maybe different as I’m on carbs. Certainly I’ll use the basic idea though.

I keep looking at this pic and wonder if the hard brake line (on the right) to the rubber flex under the seat pan will fowl the banana arm on full compression. I was under my car and my hard line is a different shape and follows the seat pan more closely.inaglasshouse wrote:

Car looks great and will be fantastic once complete. Looks like it could be a summer of fun with her.

Should be ok I think, it’s just the angle of the shot. This is my (somewhat less clean!) version:

Thanks John, thanks all. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at the pics and point out my mistakes (of which there have been plenty).johnM wrote:

In this case it does look completely different from a different angle:

(From this angle you can also see that the top bolt on the trailing arm is not tight. I know about that one
I'm sure there will be a summer of fun at some point, but I doubt it will be this summer. Usual time issues of work and family stuff, but also I really do need to get rid of some cars. It's a pain in the neck clearing some workspace in the garage when I feel like doing an hour or two on this one.
That's one excuse for slow progress, anyway.
Yeah, weep for me and my first world problems!

Just for a few days, I’ve handed over to the professionals:

When it gets back, the car will have dash, screens and headlining installed.
Amateur hour will then resume.

Indeed, Ralph.Ralph wrote:Garry's?
Carefully chosen because the floor is a complementary colour. And because he will make a much better job of the headlining than I would.

With this scheme of employing professionals, it turns out I can sit in the garden drinking wine and work still happens on the car.
Don't know why I didn't think of this before.

Ah, but your work is not done. Is it the correct hex hole pattern Richard? I can’t tell from the pic.
If so, where does Garry source it I wonder.
Loving the colour. It zings.
Regards
Mike
