My car is now home, some short drives so far. It really is a joy, very different from the 3.2 Targa I have the most experience of driving recently. I am not being critical of the more modern car but that is exactly what it is. The 2.7 feels lighter and raw.

My son has just started learning to drive, we picked him a 15 plate 1 Series. He has my love of cars and could not resist changing a few details, new black grille and powder coated the wheels. Parked the Carrera next to it today to compare the size.

On the ride height, I wasn't sure. In all honesty it is so new to me, the ride height I have just accepted as std and not given it much thought.....until you mentioned it. In terms of handling and feel the car is direct but can also feel quite soft through the corners, I was putting a lot of this down to the tall profiled tyres. A subtle lowering of the car would no doubt help this and having looked at images over the internet, my car is definitely on the high side of std.

Look forward to seeing the stick Mike.

Early rise this morning and took the car for its first real blast on my own. Felt great, still, need to build confidence and settle into the car. The CDI+ seems to have eliminated the fuel smell, I assume all being burned more efficiently. The only negative, the oil leak is still present and this will need to be addressed at some point in the future. Not something for now but it's not going away. RGO 1L, appears to stand for Rear gives OIL.

Andy thanks for pointing out how high my ride height is, can't get this out of my head. Richards safari is particularly cruel....not sure I can post any more side on images without feeling self-conscious.

Mike, running Cinturato CN 185/70 and 215/60 I think. They feel good, the handling will take some getting used to, I am pretty cautious on most occasions. I tried to unstick the car on a deserted roundabout today and I was surprised that it didn't budge. Just so different from what I am used to in the 993. Looking forward to the journey.
