Where has the time gone?
A blur of work and non Porsche related motoring!
Anyway, yes. The “High Precsion” sump/slump/dump/sumo plate did indeed arrive!
I ordered a set of new studs (scooter exhaust of all things!) off eBay too so it was all new! The plate is really very nice, almost sculptural in appearance and because I ordered the glass bead blasted version, very tactile.
Almost too nice to hide under the car.
The magnet is poverty stricken compared to the original “ring”, BUT despite my car having a noisy (ish) engine and despite running hot, the magnet is always clean at oil change time which is at least once a year.
I’ve not been far in the car, so I can’t really comment if the cooling fins have a beneficial effect. I did scruff the car about to see if I could get the oil hot, it did get hot but not as hot as after my 50 mile thrash back across the M62 but that was when the ambient air temperature was in the mid 30s (Celsius).
Ask me later in the year, after a summer of driving the car in the way the dear old Doctor intended!!!
It doesn't matter if you speak your mind, because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.......!
STILL Lusting after a 30-98, “The Finest of Sporting Cars” so much it hurts!
