What do people make of this?

A chap I know is looking at it, pxing a 996 C4S against it but is a little unsure of whether its a good deal, whether the spec is really that great etc

I am not in a position to advise him well enough so open it up for all views!!

Nice looking car. First things I would ask about are work done to the shell and engine if any (nothing mentioned). I would imagine it would ride very firmly on Turbo suspension so might be good on track, perhaps less suitable for road.

Hot rods are also hard to value and I would question why it would be worth any more than a standard SC / 3.2.

Not sure I entirely agree that it should be worth no more than a standard SC or 3.2. Isn't that price in the same range as the Nick Fuljames hot rod? There are plenty of backdated SCs and 3.2s that are priced at way more than a standard car (I say priced at, not selling at). If something is executed badly I get the point (for example there is a green script over white 3.2 presented as a 2.7 RS that has been for sale for ages, with black frames, standard interior etc that is up for £50k odd. That I would agree is worth less than a standard car because it doesn't work as what it was or what it is trying to be)

It's all subjective to a point, we all have a different perception and sometimes the heart takes over!

What I would say is that the dealer seems to get some really nice cars in and prices them sensibly. They often have slightly different stock, mildly modified, unusual colours, and they always appear well presented and sensibly priced. No affiliation, just what I have observed when searching for a car myself - they have had several cars in the last year that I could see myself in and they have all sold. One black 3.2 with a burgundy interior and big miles sold quickly and turned up a week later at a dealer in Birmingham with £3k extra on it!

Hope that helps, and obviously from your friends POV being able to p/ex makes a huge difference so if the numbers are fair it could work out well.

What a great car, spec and price.
It would be v hard to build a similar car to the same spec for the price.

The 3.2 engine is a big torquey unit and v easy to use on today's busy roads, and I doubt the turbo suspension is too harsh unless those tyres are very stiff walled.

My 73T has turbo (3 litre) rear bars, stock front and rides the rough roads really well, and the stock 3.2 on SSI's is a great drive.
Colour is very of this moment, and the interior looks great too, even RHD!

Cannot see anything to dislike here, all in the eyes of the man with the ££££.
I would have it in my garage, but one hot rod is enough.

Very nice, steep price and I would bet a large amount that it's rock solid on the road.
Bilstein b6s (presumably), turbo bars and polybronze bushes.
